About this tour
Hacienda Nápoles is now the largest theme park in Colombia: a zoo with hippos, elephants and giraffes, water complexes with slides, the Museum of Memory and photo safaris across what was once Pablo Escobar's private estate. It is a full, genuinely big day out — and it sits about four hours from Medellín, which is exactly why doing it with your own vehicle changes everything.
We leave very early, drive the Medellín–Bogotá road with stops where you need them, and the vehicle waits for you all day so you decide when to leave. On the way back many travellers ask for a stop at the Colombian Santorini in Doradal, a white-and-blue village that looks nothing like the rest of Antioquia. This is a long day: it works best for families and groups who want the park without organising the logistics.

How much does the Hacienda Nápoles tour cost?
USD $366 (about $1,200,000 COP) for the private vehicle, up to 4 people, for the entire day including the long drive both ways. Park admission is paid separately at the entrance.
How long does the day take?
Between 13 and 14 hours door to door. It is roughly 4 hours each way plus the time you spend inside the park, which deserves at least 5 hours.
Is it worth it with children?
It is one of the best family days out from Medellín: the water park, the animals and the safari keep children busy for hours. Bring swimwear and a towel.
Does the price include park tickets?
No. The tour covers private door-to-door transport for the whole day. Admission, food and any extra attraction inside the park are paid on site.

How do I pay? Is there a deposit?

Does the driver speak English?
Our drivers are native Spanish speakers who handle conversational English for the key points of the route. If you want a fully bilingual guide, tell us when booking and we arrange one.
How far ahead should I book?
As soon as you have your dates. In high season (December and January, Holy Week and the Flower Festival in August) message us several days ahead; the rest of the year, write to us even if it is for tomorrow and we will tell you if there is availability.
What if we are more than 4?
The car, a Renault Sandero, comfortably carries 4 passengers. For larger groups we arrange a second vehicle with its own driver.
Can I change the date or cancel?
Yes. Moving the date or cancelling is just a WhatsApp message; we only ask for as much notice as you can give.
